This blog post is all about daycare advertising ideas.
With so many childcare options available, you must stand out! This requires a strategic marketing plan.
The good news? You don't need a large budget to stand out and attract the right families.
In this post, we're going to explore daycare advertising ideas that work and are low-cost!
DAYCARE ADVERTISING IDEAS
Why Marketing Is Important
Marketing for your daycare isn't just about getting any enrollment to fill your spots~ it's to attract the quality of families you desire to have and that align with your values.
Whether your program is Christian-based, play-based learning, or a very structured preschool program, effectively marketing your home daycare aids in bringing the families that have those beliefs.
Advertising your daycare builds credibility in the industry! By showcasing testimonies from other families, your schedule, photos of activities, and play will build trust and confidence with your community as a daycare provider. This helps parents be comfortable and confident in bringing their pride and joy to you.
Marketing also helps financial stability, duh, right? Isn't that the whole reason we all start a home daycare, to help provide for our families while being at home with our children?
How Do I Make My Daycare Stand Out
To stand out from other daycare providers you first need to know what they offer! I talk more about how to figure that out in, How To Start A Daycare At Home.
Once you understand what your competitors offer, you can find the gap in services to add to your program.
Let families know and feel your home daycare acts and feels like a home away from home. While still having the educational aspect of your program. If you believe in all organic products, foods, homemade snacks, and meals advertise that! Is there a need for a faith-based program, offer it!
Host family nights where you educate families on a particular topic, modeling how to implement it. Host a kid and parent cooking class. Or host family game night or movie night. Put together a family appreciation night once a year, go all out here: ice cream, pizza, and games. Offer date nights once a month where you keep the children for a fee, and the parents get a night out!
These help foster the relationships between you and the family while standing out from other daycares!
Daycare Advertising Ideas
You've found the gap in services in your community and decided on the unique qualities of your home daycare; now it's time to start marketing!
- Facebook Page~ Start a daycare Facebook page. Upload your schedule, and lesson plans for the month, post educating topics, and share simple kid-friendly recipes, and photos of activities you are doing, but be sure to protect the kid's privacy. Ask your friends and family to share your posts to gain more traffic.
- Word of Mouth~ I've found this to be an invaluable tool. Share with your church, book clubs, parent clubs, friends, and family that you're opening a daycare! They will spread the word!
- Referral Program~ Offer a referral program with your families. For every family they refer that stays in your program for at least two weeks, the referring family gets a discount or free days in return!
- Website~ This can be costly and time-consuming if you're not careful. If you choose to build a website, add it to your Facebook page! Every time you create a blog post, add the link to your Daycare Facebook page and personal Facebook page.
- Newsletter~ Start a monthly newsletter where you cover a particular topic around child development. Share the newsletter on your personal and daycare Facebook pages.
- Flyers~ Create flyers with pull tabs that have your number on them. Post these at your local library, coffee shops, church, and other businesses.
- Open-house~ Give a tour of your space and a brief explanation of what your daycare offers. Collect families information so you can reach back out to them for feedback and if interested in an interview!
- Sponsor an Event~ Sponsor a local charity or sporting event with your business name!
- Digital Maps~ Google Maps appears at the top of all search engines. Here is a link on how to add your daycare to Google Maps.
