This post is all about February activities for toddlers and preschoolers.
It's time for another month of planning hands on activities for your littles. Planning all of the different lessons and activities can be overwhelming and stressful. However, it doesn't have to be with these done-for-you lessons, activities, and templates. Check out these February activities for toddlers & preschoolers. Each theme is complete with 5 detailed lesson plans, templates, math, literacy, sensory, fine motor, crafts, and gross activities.
FEBRUARY ACTIVITIES FOR TODDLERS & PRESCHOOLERS
Community Helpers
Children will love completing math, literacy, and crafts with this community helpers theme! With these fun hands on lessons, they won't even feel like they are learning! They'll match upper and lowercase letters by matching the picture of tools on the puzzle pieces. They will love counting the rocks in the dump trucks to determine which one has more or fewer. Use the tool belt name craft for decoration and name recognition. They will love the dumping station for gross motor and movement.
Valentine's Day
Is there a better theme to use for February than Valentine's Day? I don't think so! Hands on math activities, such as sorting the hearts by color and size. Counting the dots on the hearts to match them to the correct numeral. They will play in the sensory bin for hours and not even realize they are building their math skills. They will love being a mailman and match the letter hearts to the correct letter mailbox. The stem activities will definitely be a hit!
Animals Vet
All children love animals, and with this theme, every lesson includes animals while learning through hands on activities. Fine motor is built with lacing the horse. Fun crafts such as puffy painting an alligator. Roll a die and feed the cat that number of snacks. Count the animals on the cards and select the correct number by placing a clothespin on it. Build literacy skills and name recognition with the dog collar name craft. They'll love matching the animal pictures while building their literacy skills. The children will especially love moving their bodies while pretending to be a vet through the gross motor stations.
Night Sky & Stars
Space is such a fun theme, no matter what month! Literacy skills and name recognition will be built with the star name craft. They'll match the space pictures on upper and lowercase puzzle pieces. Some of the math activities are sorting the stars by size, rolling a die and covering the shooting star, and a space number walk. Fine motor skills will be strengthened by lacing a star and many other activities. They'll love the space sensory bin. I think you'll be forced to do a glow in the dark letter hunt several times because they will love it that much! The children have an opportunity to build their own shooting star through one of the STEM activities.
Each of these themes comes with 5 detailed lesson plans, 5 STEM, 5 Math, 5 craft or fine motor activities, and 1 gross motor activity to vary throughout the week. You can grab any of these themes individually or get more bang for your buck by grabbing the bundle!
