This post is all about how to attract clients.
Just starting a daycare? Or do you already own a daycare and are wondering how to attract clients? Well, it's probably not what you think it is.
Attracting clients isn't as hard as you think. It starts with the families that you do have. In this post, I'm breaking down exactly what you need to do more of today to attract clients.
HOW TO ATTRACT CLIENTS
Effective Communication With Daycare Parents
Attracting clients begins with cultivating the relationships with the families that you do have! Which happens through effective communication. Parents want to know what their children are learning, how they are acting, and if they ate or slept well.
At pick up, communicate how their child's day went. Did they do something funny? Share it! Parents don't want to feel like they are missing out on any part of their child's day. Use a communication app such as Brightwheel! You can easily track what they ate and when, naps, diaper changes, send pictures, and more.
Send out weekly newsletters via email using a platform such as Flodesk. Include upcoming days off and pictures of kids completing activities or playing. Have an educator insight spotlight where you are educating the parents on a particular topic. Include what we are learning spotlight. Break it down by age so parents know what they can reinforce at home to help further their child's education.
Family Engagement
Increase your family engagement to attract more clients! Host family nights monthly or quarterly. Bonus, these will count as working hours. They can be themed around a topic that you have been learning in daycare. Or it can be a tot and parent cooking class, craft, activity, etc. This gives you the opportunity to showcase how you interact with their children, your knowledge, and the loving relationship you and their children have. All while creating family engagement within your program!
Don't forget to take videos and pictures of the event for your social media! Free advertisement.

By cultivating relationships and increasing family engagement with the families that you do have, they will naturally talk about who is loving their children while they are away at work. This will bring in referrals from these families. Typically, you can trust these referrals to be great families that will respect you and your policies, too!
Offer a referral program to incentivize your families. Give them a discount or a certain number of free days of childcare after they refer a given number of families that enroll in your program. Enrolled families are the key to the referral program.
Create a Facebook page for your daycare. Share the newsletters that you send out to families. You'll reach more families and be able to educate even more families! You'll be known for educating families and your knowledge of children. Increasing your chance of gaining new clients.
Post pictures of activities, crafts, quotes, etc, make sure you have permission from parents to post pictures on social media first. Post openings on your personal page and daycare page. Drive traffic to your daycare Facebook page by asking for it to be shared, or host a small giveaway for it to be shared. Don't forget a giveaway would be a tax deduction! Talk, talk, and talk more. Tell everybody about your daycare business. Share it with your friends, family, and church. Word of mouth will be your best friend on how to attract clients!
Create social media ads. Here is an in-depth video of how to set up Facebook ads. Any cost of the ads is another tax deduction.
Design a website. A website can be a huge undertaking, so you may want to hire a professional.
How to attract clients isn't really the question you should ask yourself. Instead, you should ask how can I keep the clients I do have. In return, more clients will come through those families by referrals and word of mouth!
